Bodø/Glimt vs Lille: the Norwegians will look to capitalize on the French side's problems
On November 3, 2026, Bodø/Glimt will host Lille in the fourth round of the Champions League league phase. The match will take place at Aspmyra Stadium in Bodø, Norway, with kick-off scheduled for 21:00 local time. This is an important opportunity for both teams to improve their positions in the table, but the visitors are in particular need of points. After three rounds, the Norwegians have three points to their name, while the French club are still without a single one.
Bodø/Glimt
The Norwegians head into the upcoming match in high spirits. On October 30, Kjetil Knutsen's side played out an entertaining game against Viking and claimed a 3-2 victory. It was an important result not only for morale, but also in the context of the title race in the Eliteserien: after 25 rounds, Bodø/Glimt have 59 points, the same total as league leaders Viking.

Their Champions League results have been mixed so far. The Norwegians opened their campaign with a painful 5-0 thrashing by Bayern Munich, but then managed to shock European football by beating Borussia Dortmund 1-0 at home. In the last round, the team lost 4-3 to Napoli, despite finding the net three times away from home against the Italian side.
Knutsen's team is defined by its aggressive attacking football. Bodø/Glimt are not accustomed to sitting deep, make active use of the flanks, press high up the pitch and look to win the ball back quickly. The Norwegians are particularly dangerous on home turf, where the artificial surface and familiar conditions give them an additional advantage.
Among the players capable of causing problems for the French side, Jens Petter Hauge, Patrick Berg and Sondre Fet stand out. The first provides cutting edge in attack, the second orchestrates play in midfield, while the third can join attacks and create additional danger.
Lille
The French club are enduring a difficult spell in their European campaign. After three rounds, Davide Ancelotti's team have no points. Lille first lost 3-2 to Real Betis, then suffered a 3-0 defeat to Arsenal, before surprisingly falling 4-2 to Galatasaray in their latest match. Conceding seven goals in their last two games is a record that will clearly concern the coaching staff.
Even so, the French side should certainly not be written off. Their situation in the domestic championship looks considerably brighter. On October 30, Lille played a fiercely contested derby against Lens and secured a 1-0 victory. Olivier Giroud scored the only goal in the 87th minute, reacting quickest to the rebound after Nabil Bentaleb's shot. Before that, the team had drawn 1-1 with Monaco, so the derby victory was an excellent way to lift spirits ahead of their European trip.
Lille have plenty of interesting options in attack. Olivier Giroud remains an important figure thanks to his experience and ability in the penalty area, while Ethan Mbappé, Hákon Haraldsson and Soriba Diaoune can add pace and unpredictability. Much will depend on Nabil Bentaleb and Benjamin André in midfield.
However, the personnel problems have not gone away. Tiago Santos, Hamza Igamane and Ayase Ueda remain sidelined with injuries. Santos' absence is particularly damaging, as it limits the team's options on the right side of defence. It is also worth noting that the team have just come through an emotionally demanding derby and now face a difficult flight to Norway.
What to expect from the match?
The teams have never met in an official competition, so there is no historical advantage for either side to speak of. There are, however, plenty of reasons to expect an entertaining game.
Bodø/Glimt will surely look to make the most of home advantage and set a high tempo from the opening whistle. The Norwegians understand that they can play boldly against Lille, especially given the French side's defensive problems. At the same time, the hosts must avoid repeating the mistakes from the Napoli match, when excessive openness resulted in four goals conceded.
The visitors will most likely focus on ball control and more measured attacks. The victory over Lens should provide a confidence boost, but in Norway they will have to deal with their opponents' pressing and intensity in an entirely different way.
In my view, Bodø/Glimt have a good chance of earning all three points. The Norwegians look highly convincing at home, while Lille have been far from impressive in the Champions League so far. At the same time, both teams possess enough attacking quality to produce goals.
My prediction: both teams to score — yes.
