For the 2024-25 season, AmaZulu FC has brought in important players to strengthen their team. They have signed versatile defender Sandile Mthethwa and experienced midfielder Bongani Zungu. Zungu, 32, comes from Mamelodi Sundowns, where he played 45 games in two seasons, scoring one goal and making three assists. Zungu has a lot of experience playing in Europe for teams like Vitória Guimarães, Amiens, and Rangers. He has also played 29 times for the South Africa national team.

Meanwhile, Mthethwa, 27, joins after being released by Orlando Pirates, where he spent much of his time on loan at Chippa United. Chippa avoided relegation in the 2020–21 season because to his leadership, which made him an invaluable member of AmaZulu's defense.

AmaZulu have had a tough start to the season, losing their first four games and being eliminated early from the Carling Knockout Cup. But they've bounced back, winning three of their last four matches. They're now in 13th place in the Premier Division with nine points from eight games. With Zungu and Mthethwa joining the team, AmaZulu hope to climb higher in the league and stay away from the danger of being relegated as the season continues.
