Zlatan Ibrahimovic Backs Ghana to Shock England and Croatia at 2026 World Cup
Former Sweden striker Zlatan Ibrahimović believes Ghana have the quality to cause an upset in Group L at the 2026 FIFA World Cup, despite being widely viewed as outsiders.
Speaking ahead of the tournament, Ibrahimovic highlighted the competitive nature of the group, which also includes England, Croatia, and Panama.
He pointed out that while England and Croatia are expected to dominate the group, Ghana’s emerging talent makes them a dangerous opponent capable of causing problems.
“We have England, we have Croatia… then we have Ghana with big talents. Let’s see what they bring,” Ibrahimovic said in comments shared via Fox Sports. Let's see what they bring. We have Panama. Unfortunately, in this group, I think they will be a punching bag for England and Croatia, and Ghana might disturb them and take some points."
