Zamalek Sign 21-Year-Old Tunisian Winger Ahmed Jefali to Strengthen Attack
Zamalek has strengthened their offensive options by finalizing the $500,000 acquisition of Ahmed Jefali from Union de Monastir. A three-and-a-half-year deal that will expire in 2028 has been signed by the 21-year-old winger.
A Rising Talent
Jefali, who holds Tunisian and German citizenship, started his career at Esperance de Tunis before moving to Galatasaray’s youth academy. He returned to Tunisia in 2022, joining Union de Monastir, where he scored three goals and assisted two in 14 league appearances this season.
Zamalek’s Winter Reinforcements
The young winger becomes Zamalek’s fourth winter signing, following the arrivals of Salah Moussaddaq, Mahmoud Gehad, and Ahmed Hossam. His addition aims to bolster an inconsistent attack, with Mostafa Shalaby struggling for form and Ahmed "Zizo" El Sayed dealing with contract negotiations.
Debut Uncertainty
Jefali might not make his debut until Zamalek's match against Petrojet on February 16; they play Pharco FC on Tuesday. Supporters will be watching to see if he can assist Zamalek in their quest for the CAF Confederation Cup and league championship.
