A new chapter is about to begin at Zamalek SC, as the club edges closer to appointing Portuguese manager Paulo Bento as the new head coach of the senior football team.

Who's Next for the White Knights?

Sources within the Cairo-based giants revealed on Saturday evening that Bento has emerged as the front-runner to replace interim boss Ayman El Ramadi. The decision comes after sporting director John Edward reportedly settled on a Portuguese profile, in coordination with club president Hussein Labib.

Final Talks Underway

According to insider reports shared with Al-Masry Al-Youm, Bento is now the leading candidate, with an official announcement expected later this week. If confirmed, this move will mark Zamalek's latest attempt to return to consistency after a turbulent season.

A Manager with International Pedigree

Paulo Bento has experience working under duress. The 54-year-old has led the Portuguese national side in the past, taking them to the 2014 FIFA World Cup and UEFA Euro 2012. One of his most recent positions was as coach of South Korea, who he led to the Round of 16 in Qatar in 2022.

In the hopes that the new coach would provide stability and success to the team's future campaigns, Zamalek supporters are now awaiting confirmation.
