Cameroon secured their place in the U20 Africa Cup of Nations following their 4–1 victory over Gabon in the semi-final of the UNIFFAC tournament. After the match, the U20 Lions’ manager, Yvan Kenmoe, expressed his satisfaction whilst highlighting his players’ lack of clinical finishing.

Despite these missed chances, the manager was keen to congratulate his players on their efforts, given the gruelling schedule of matches. He is now clearly aiming to retain the UNIFFAC tournament trophy, which is being held in Yaoundé.

“It’s a feeling of satisfaction. We knew it wasn’t going to be easy, especially as our opponents had had five days to recover. We must thank and congratulate the lads for their hard work, because it’s a tough ask to play another match just 48 hours after such an intense fixture.

“The final? For now, the Central African Republic are a strong side. They beat Congo. Now, we’re going to fight to keep the trophy at home. That’s the objective.”

Cameroon will face the Central African Republic in the final of the UNIFFAC tournament on Saturday 24 October.
