Chicago Blackhawks' young star, Connor Bedard, suffered an unfortunate injury during a regular-season game.

According to ESPN sources, the 2023 first overall draft pick took a hit to the jaw in a match against the New Jersey Devils from defenseman Brendan Smith. The incident occurred in the middle of the first period. Chicago confirmed the 18-year-old hockey player's injury, and he is at risk of missing the All-Star Game scheduled for the weekend of February 3-4.

Following the situation with Bedard, Chicago forward Nick Foligno engaged in an altercation with Smith, and in the second period, the players engaged in a fight. Foligno suffered a broken finger on his left hand as a result.

Connor Bedard was selected as the first overall pick in the 2023 NHL draft. On his 18th birthday, July 17, he signed a three-year rookie contract with the Blackhawks. He made his NHL debut on October 10, 2023, in a game against the Pittsburgh Penguins, earning his first career point. The next day, in a match against the Boston Bruins, he scored his first goal in the NHL.
