Young Senegalese talent Souleymane Faye meets idol at Chelsea

Whilst in England for a trial at Chelsea, the young Senegalese U17 international experienced a special moment when he met his idol, Cole Palmer.

This encounter is likely to remain etched in Souleymane Faye’s memory for a long time to come. The 16-year-old attacking midfielder even received a message of encouragement from the English star, who told him: “We’ll play together one day.”

Currently on trial at Chelsea, one of the Premier League’s top clubs, Souleymane Faye is continuing his development in the hope of taking his young career to the next level. A product of the Be Sport Academy, the attacking midfielder made a name for himself in 2025 during the WAFU-A U17 tournament, held in Mali.

He shone particularly brightly there, winning the awards for best player and top scorer of the tournament, thereby helping the Senegalese side to victory. Since that impressive performance, Souleymane Faye has continued to demonstrate his qualities with the youth national teams.
