Young Brighton star out for long term again
Forward for Brighton and former Barcelona player Ansu Fati, who had a promising start this season with his current team scoring four goals and providing one assist, will once again require medical intervention. The Spanish player sustained an injury, and it's anticipated that his recovery will extend until the end of February, as reported by L'Equipe.
Suffering an injury on November 25th during the match against Nottingham Forest (3-2) while playing for Brighton, Ansu Fati is likely to be absent for three months. This was disclosed by the team's head coach, Roberto De Zerbi, during a press conference on Friday.
"He'll need three months to fully recover from the injury. This is unfortunate news for us, considering he was playing better, understanding the game's concepts better. I feel sorry for him and for the team, especially since Welbeck and Ennis are also unavailable," said Roberto De Zerbi.
Brighton's medical staff will do everything possible to ensure that Ansu Fati's injury doesn't impede his progress, particularly after his successful debut with the "Seagulls." Ansu previously suffered a similar injury three years ago, tearing his meniscus while playing for Barcelona, resulting in a ten-month absence from November 2020 to September 2021.
Ansu Fati was raised in the youth academy of the Spanish club Herrera, and since 2012, he was part of Barcelona's system. Making his debut for the Catalan club at the age of 16 years and 298 days, he became the second youngest player for the team and was considered one of the most outstanding young talents. During the last offseason, he moved to Brighton on loan.
It's worth noting that Brighton will be facing Burnley today in the sixteenth round of the English Premier League.
