The CONCACAF Nations League match between Anguilla and Antigua and Barbuda produced one of the most unusual moments in football this year. With the score at 0-5, Aedan Scipio came on for Anguilla — a forward impossible to miss because of his gigantic dreadlocks.
The footballer's hair unexpectedly became the main source of irritation for the opposition. During several incidents, Antigua and Barbuda players tried to stop Scipio by pulling on his long braids. As a result, two players from the team were shown red cards and sent off early.
Scipio himself continued playing on the pitch as if nothing unusual had happened. His hairstyle has long been the forward's trademark. What is more, Scipio is considered to have the longest hair in world football, so it is hardly surprising that it attracted so much attention during the match.
Antigua and Barbuda were already comfortably in control of the match and eventually secured a resounding 5-0 victory. However, instead of the result being the main talking point, the match was remembered for an entirely different detail.
