“You can't do!”. Simone Inzaghi blasted Inter after disappointing loss of points at start of season
Italian champions Inter Milan drew 2:2 with Genoa in their season opener, missing out on victory in the last minute of stoppage time.
Inter’s head coach, Simone Inzaghi, criticized his team for their inability to maintain the lead.
"There’s disappointment. In my opinion, the guys played a serious, focused game. We had a solid first half where we created a lot and conceded an unfortunate goal, a fluke. Then we responded well," Inzaghi told DAZN.
"In the second half, we moved the ball more slowly, then in the 84th minute, we scored a goal that gave us the lead, but I’m still not satisfied. After the goal, we should have managed the ball better.
Conceding two such goals makes it hard to win matches. Credit to Genoa, but this draw doesn’t bring us much satisfaction, considering what we created. A team like ours, leading in the 84th minute, shouldn’t be conceding goals, especially in that manner."
In the second round of Serie A, Inter will face Lecce on August 24.
