Yaya Touré gets off to a perfect start with Slovan Bratislava
Appointed head coach of the Slovak club a few weeks ago, the Ivorian tactician has racked up two consecutive wins.
Yaya Touré could not have hoped for a better start as a club’s head coach. The former Ivory Coast international has had a perfect start to the season, securing a second consecutive victory at the helm of Slovan Bratislava.
After making a successful debut with a 2–0 win over Iberia 1999 on 21 July in the second qualifying round of the UEFA Champions League, the Ivorian manager followed that up with another victory for his team in the league on 26 July.
On the opening day of the Slovak professional league, Slovan Bratislava gave Banska Bystrica no chance. Yaya Touré’s side ran out 4-0 winners.
A convincing performance for the Ivorian tactician, who is managing a club’s first team as head coach for the first time. It’s a promising start for the former Ivory Coast international midfielder in his new role on the Slovak club’s bench.
His team’s upcoming matches will be crucial in building on this momentum.
