Yaya Toure has broken his silence in response to false statements attributed to him about the Africa Cup of Nations final between Senegal and Morocco. Following this intense and chaotic final, certain comments were shared on social media, leading people to believe that they were made by Yaya Toure.

These statements referred to the former Ivorian international's strong opinion on the controversy surrounding the final in Rabat. However, the former Barcelona and Manchester City player has clarified that they are false.

"Certain quotes concerning the CAN final are circulating online and are attributed to me. To be very clear, I did not give any interviews or speak to anyone about the final; these quotes are therefore not mine and should not be attributed to me. Thank you to those who informed me of this situation," wrote the 42-year-old Ivorian.
