Yankuba Minteh Agrees Personal Terms with Liverpool as Brighton Reject £60m Bid
Liverpool have reportedly reached a broad verbal agreement with Brighton winger Yankuba Minteh over personal terms, according to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano.
The Reds have been pursuing the Gambia international in recent weeks and previously saw a £50 million bid rejected by Brighton. Liverpool then returned with an improved £60 million offer, but the Seagulls turned down the latest proposal.
Despite the rejection, talks between the two clubs are continuing, with Minteh reportedly giving the green light to Liverpool’s project.
Liverpool are looking to strengthen their wide attacking options following the departure of Mohamed Salah, with Minteh emerging as one of their key targets during the remainder of the transfer window.
The 22-year-old is currently sidelined after undergoing surgery on a right-leg injury sustained during Brighton’s 3-0 friendly victory over Roma earlier this month. The injury is expected to keep him out for at least eight weeks.
Minteh has made 73 appearances for Brighton, scoring 10 goals and providing nine assists since joining the club.
