In the Mainland Tanzania Premier League on December 22, 2024, Young Africans (Yanga) defeated Tanzania Prisons 4-0 in a crucial match. The KMC Complex was the venue for this game. With this victory, Yanga climbed to second position in the league, trailing only Simba, their primary rival, by one point.

Clement Mzize scored the first goal in the 13th minute, after receiving a good pass from Prince Dube. Then, in the 41st minute, Ibrahim "Bacca" Hamad made it 2-0 by taking advantage of a rebound from a free-kick that Stephane Aziz Ki had hit off the crossbar.Bacca then added another in the 84th minute, converting a corner from Pacome Zouzoua, making it his fourth goal of the season.

Prince Dube scored Yanga’s third goal just before halftime in the 45th minute, following another precise assist from Aziz Ki.

With 33 points from 13 matches, Yanga now sits in second place, trailing Simba, who leads the table with 34 points. Azam FC follows closely behind in third place with 33 points from 15 matches.

Tanzania Prisons had a chance to equalize in the 29th minute, but Abdulkarim Segeja wasted a fantastic opportunity and shot wide when confronted by Yanga goalie Aboutwalib Msheli, despite Yanga's strong start.

The comprehensive win signals Yanga’s determination to reclaim the top spot, as the title race intensifies with both Yanga and Simba in top form.
