Yan Diomande pays tribute to Sebastien Haller

The Leipzig striker spoke about the special relationship he shares with the Ivory Coast international.

Yan Diomande began by commenting on Emerse Fae’s selections for the 2026 World Cup. In his view, the manager’s selections must be respected and the collective interest comes first.

“All the coach’s decisions are good ones. If I’m in the squad, that’s perfect. I just want to help my country and my teammates, whoever they may be; I have no preference.”

Yan Diomande also emphasised the importance of Sébastien Haller in his career. He said that the hero of the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations provided him with invaluable support when he arrived in Spain.

“Haller was at Leganés when I was about to arrive. He invited me to his home in Madrid. We never played together in Spain, but we did so for the national team. He helped me a lot.”
