The atmosphere surrounding the election of the new Blaugrana president is heating up.

Details: According to Diario Sport, 45-year-old former Barcelona and Spain midfielder Xavi attended an event where Victor Font, Joan Laporta's main rival in the Barcelona presidential race, unveiled his campaign program.

Font leads a coalition called Nosaltres, which stands as one of the frontrunners in the upcoming elections. The event, held yesterday, brought together several groups determined to challenge Laporta for the club's top post.

Reports indicate that the relationship between Xavi and Laporta soured significantly after Xavi was dismissed as Barcelona head coach, despite Laporta previously urging him to stay.

Xavi managed Barcelona from 2021 to 2024, overseeing 143 matches in charge of Barça, in which he secured 91 wins, 23 draws, and 29 defeats.

Reminder: End of the drama! Official: Barcelona returns to Camp Nou
