Barcelona's head coach, Xavi Hernandez, has been suspended for his misconduct in the recent La Liga match against Atlético (3-0).

The Disciplinary Committee of the Spanish Football Federation has suspended the coach for the next two matches in the championship. Xavi will not be able to lead the Blaugranas in the matches against Las Palmas (March 30) and Cadiz (April 13).

However, the coach of the Catalan team will be able to return to the coaching bench for El Clásico against Real Madrid, which is scheduled for April 21.

It's worth noting that towards the end of the first half of the match against Atlético, Xavi was shown two yellow cards for disputes with the referees. The coach was forced to watch the game from the stands.

Barcelona currently occupies the second place in the La Liga table after 29 rounds. Xavi's team trails behind the main rival, Real, by eight points.

Earlier reports suggested that the Barcelona captain might move to MLS.
