Wydad Casablanca continues to bolster its squad in preparation for the decisive phase of the season, officially announcing the signing of Tanzanian striker Selemani Mwalimu and Ghanaian forward Samuel Obeng. These two acquisitions reflect the club’s ambition to compete for top honors.

Selemani Mwalimu… A Bet on the Future

On Sunday, February 9, Wydad confirmed the signing of Tanzanian forward Selemani Mwalimu from Fountain Gate on a contract running until June 2029. The club made the announcement in a unique way, directly addressing Tanzanian fans on its official platforms: “Hello Tanzanian fans. Selemani Mwalimu has joined our club. Welcome to the family.”

This signing comes at an interesting time, as Morocco is set to face Tanzania soon, making Mwalimu’s move to the Moroccan league even more significant.

Samuel Obeng… A Reinforcement with European Experience

Wydad also secured the services of Ghanaian forward Samuel Obeng on a free transfer after his contract with Portuguese club Casa Pia ended. The 27-year-old, who previously played for Real Oviedo in Spain, brings speed, versatility, and goal-scoring ability to the team.

Wydad is working to bolster its team in anticipation of the Botola Pro League and CAF Champions League finals, as the team hopes to contend for both championships with these acquisitions.
