WTA Finals 2024: format
The format for both singles and doubles is the same. Participants are divided into two groups of four players/pairs.
The tournament will proceed with a round-robin stage, with the top two players/pairs advancing to the semifinals. The player/team that finishes first in one group will face the player/team that finishes second in the other group, and vice versa. The winners of the semifinals will advance to the final.
WTA Finals 2024: prizes
Unlike the format, the prize money varies depending on the division. Each player in the singles event will receive $335,000 for participating, and $350,000 for each win in the group stage.
In the doubles event, the amounts are lower: $140,000 per team for participation and $70,000 for each win.
In total, a player who goes undefeated throughout the tournament can earn 1,500 ranking points, as well as $5.155 million in singles and $1.125 million in doubles.
