Details: According to insider Nicolo Schira, Aston Villa are making strong progress in negotiations with Chelsea over the transfer of Nicolas Jackson. The Senegalese forward has already given his approval to join the Birmingham side.

The main driving force behind this deal is Unai Emery. The Aston Villa manager is pushing hard to sign the 25-year-old forward and is eager to work with him again after their successful spell together at Villarreal.

It was under Emery that Jackson made a real breakthrough in Spain. The player himself has previously admitted that the Spanish coach played a huge role in his development as a footballer.

The key question now is whether Aston Villa and Chelsea can finalize the terms of the transfer. Previously, the London club valued the striker at around £65 million.

It's worth noting that last season Jackson was on loan at Bayern Munich. The Senegalese striker netted 11 goals in 19 appearances, starting 15 of those matches. According to Transfermarkt, his current market value is €40 million.
