Thembinkosi Lorch could soon be back on the market.

Details: According to iDiski Times, the 33-year-old winger is likely to become a free agent in the next transfer window, with Lorch and Al-Ittihad believed to be moving closer to a mutual separation. The South African has notably been absent from the Libyan club's recent league squads under head coach Faouzi Benzarti.

Lorch was recently in talks over a move to reigning Moroccan champions MAS Fes, who had already strengthened their squad with Tshegofatso Mabasa and Devin Titus. However, the parties were unable to reach an agreement on personal terms, leaving the experienced attacker in Libya.

Reports from Libya also suggest that clubs from Egypt and Algeria have shown interest in the former Mamelodi Sundowns and Orlando Pirates star. A return to Wydad AC had previously been discussed as well, but the Moroccan giants did not submit an official offer.

Lorch joined Al-Ittihad from Wydad earlier in 2026, shortly before Rulani Mokwena took charge of the Tripoli club. Mokwena later left and is now in charge of Pyramids FC, where he opened his spell with ten consecutive victories across all competitions.

It is worth noting that Lorch turned 33 in July. Transfermarkt's latest available valuation puts the South African winger at €400,000, while National Football Teams records seven league appearances and one goal for Al-Ittihad in the 2025/26 season.
