Sunderland is bolstering its defense with a wealth of international experience.
Details: According to Sky Sports, Thomas Meunier is expected to arrive at Sunderland today to sign a two-year contract with the club.
The 34-year-old Belgian defender will join the English side as a free agent. His deal with Lille expired at the end of June, after which he left the French club.
This will be Meunier’s first experience in English football. Previously, the right-back played for Club Brugge, PSG, Borussia Dortmund, Trabzonspor, and Lille.
It’s worth noting that last season Meunier made 25 Ligue 1 appearances for Lille.
