The German national team is having one of the most unsuccessful years in its history.

On November 21, the German team lost to the Austrian team (0:2) in a friendly match, and this is already the sixth defeat during 2023.

Statisticians calculated that this was a repetition of the anti-record in the history of the German national team.

Germany's previous history of losing six matches in one calendar year was in 2018. Then the German team played 13 matches.

Interestingly, in 2023, Julian Nagelsmann’s team played two fewer matches. This is due to the fact that the German team does not take part in the qualifying round of Euro 2024, as Germany will be the host of the European championship.

It is reasonable to recall that Germany won the World Cup, beating Argentina in the final with a score of 1:0, in 2014. Three years later, the Germans became the winners of the Confederations Cup.
