Worst team in history. La Liga club set a unique anti-record

Yesterday, Almería played a goalless draw against Athletic Bilbao at home, etching their name into La Liga's history.

Almería has become the first team in the annals of La Liga not to secure a single victory in the initial 24 rounds of the season. Gaiska Garitano's squad has amassed a mere 7 points.

Previously, the record belonged to Huesca's Sporting. In the 1997/98 season, they went winless in the first 23 matches of the La Liga season but triumphed 2-1 against Racing Santander in the 24th round. Sporting concluded that season in the last position with a tally of 13 points.

Almería returned to La Liga following the 2021/22 season. In the preceding season, they finished in the 17th position, a solitary point away from the relegation zone.
