It’s unlikely that anyone in the world had previously heard of the modest Mongolian club Tuv Buganuud. However, the club has now drawn attention for an unprecedented negative record.

Details: Tuv Buganuud has set the mark for the worst start in the history of top-tier football leagues.

Last season, the club finished fifth in the Mongolian Premier League, but ahead of the new campaign, they encountered significant financial difficulties and lost all their first-team players. As a result, Tuv Buganuud was forced to field players from their academy as well as from lower-tier leagues.

This led to a disastrous run, with Tuv Buganuud losing all nine of their opening matches in the Premier League by a combined score of 2-111. Their heaviest defeat came at the hands of Deren, who thrashed them 21-0.

The smallest margin of defeat was a 0-4 loss to Khangarid. However, even that match ended in a technical defeat, as Tuv Buganuud was unable to assemble a full team.
