One of the strongest tennis players in history, Serena Williams, stated in an interview with CNN that women's sports are experiencing their golden age. In connection with this, Williams is considering acquiring one of the WNBA clubs.

“I absolutely would be (interested). With the right market, I would definitely be super interested in that, acknowledging the “moment” that women’s basketball is having after a successful NCAA tournament that broke all kinds of viewing records.

There is no risk (factor). Women’s sport is exciting, women are exciting to watch. What’s the difference? … I think that even more people watched the college women’s basketball than the men. So I think that people are realizing that is exciting to watch.”

Earlier, Serena Williams admitted that she won the Australian Open in 2017 while pregnant. This was her last Grand Slam tournament victory.

Serena Williams is a 23-time Grand Slam singles champion and a four-time Olympic champion (one title in singles).

The legendary American retired in 2022.
