In the first semifinal match of the 2024 Youth World Championship, Sweden faced the Czech Republic.

The Czechs opened the scoring in the seventh minute of the match, but Sweden leveled the score in the middle of the first period. At the beginning of the second period, Sweden took the lead. Five minutes later, the Czech Republic equalized with a power-play goal.

The third period settled all questions regarding the first finalist. Sweden first converted a power-play opportunity in the sixth minute, and a few minutes later, they scored twice in succession. Czech Republic couldn't mount a comeback. Consequently, the tournament hosts secured a 5-2 victory, advancing to the final.

In the other semifinal, the United States will play against Finland, and the final match is set for Friday, January 5th.
