The Swiss national team has encountered a highly unexpected problem just days before the start of the most anticipated tournament of the quadrennial.
Details: According to Communiqué, the national team’s star striker Breel Embolo was unable to fly to the World Cup with his teammates—he was simply denied boarding at the airport due to sudden visa issues.
The Swiss Football Association has officially confirmed the incident but chose not to disclose legal details regarding the unexpected visa malfunction, which is currently under thorough investigation. To reassure fans, the organization released an urgent press statement:
“We are currently in constant contact with the relevant authorities. We expect that Breel will join the team later today, or else travel tomorrow and reunite with the squad at the venue,” the statement reads.
If the situation is resolved, the Rennes forward will have to catch up with the team on his own.
Reminder: The Turkish national team has announced its squad for the World Cup.
