World Cup Star Edouard Mendy Announces International Retirement From Senegal

Senegal goalkeeper Edouard Mendy has announced his retirement from international football after eight years with the Lions of Teranga.

Mendy announced his decision to draw the curtain on his international career with the Lions of Teranga via his official social media account by posting his highlights with the Senegal national team, accompanied by a brief message: “Thank you, Senegal."

The 34-year-old goalkeeper made his debut for the Lions of Teranga in 2018 and had an outstanding performance between the posts.

During his career with Senegal, Mendy helped the Lions of Teranga win the Africa Cup of Nations in 2021 and 2025. He also recorded 31 clean sheets while conceding 34 goals across his 59 international appearances.
