Worked together at Sporting: Amorim interested in signing PSG's Nuno Mendes
Ruben Amorim, who took charge of Manchester United in November after leaving Sporting, is considering strengthening his squad and seems to have identified a key target.
Details: According to insider Nicolò Schira, Manchester United is interested in PSG's standout left-back Nuno Mendes. United's head coach Ruben Amorim is keen on this transfer, as he knows Mendes well from their time together at Sporting and enjoyed working with him.
Recently, reports suggested that the Portuguese coach has also asked the club's management to sign Wolves forward Matheus Cunha. Manchester United is considered one of the frontrunners to secure the 25-year-old Brazilian's signature.
Reminder: Manchester United unexpectedly lost 2-0 to Wolverhampton in their Premier League round 18 match during the traditional Boxing Day fixtures. This marked the Red Devils' third defeat across all competitions. Expectations were high for Ruben Amorim to deliver a better start.
The match against Wolverhampton was Amorim's seventh Premier League game in charge of Manchester United.
