Recently, while appearing on the popular streamer IShowSpeed’s channel, FIFA President Gianni Infantino floated the possibility of Cristiano Ronaldo taking part in the Club World Cup. And it turns out those words were not just for show.
Details: According to Ben Jacobs, the FIFA president is indeed actively working to see Ronaldo feature at the Club World Cup, encouraging clubs outside of Saudi Arabia who are participating in the tournament to sign the Portuguese forward.
But the option involving Al Hilal—already mentioned previously—remains on the table. Not long ago, this scenario seemed impossible, but now it has become a very real prospect. It’s no surprise that FIFA is so invested in Ronaldo’s participation at the Club World Cup, as his involvement would undoubtedly boost the tournament’s global ratings.
Reminder: After Al Nassr’s defeat, which ended the team’s hopes of qualifying for the AFC Champions League, Ronaldo published a post hinting at his departure from the club.
