Wojciech Szczęsny's 18-year career has come to an end. The Polish goalkeeper at the age of 34 announced the end of professional performances.

Szczęsny announced this on his Instagram, leaving a touching appeal to the public:

‘The end of a journey is a time for reflection and gratitude.

There are many people I have to thank at this point, but I will try to do it in person with each of them. But to you - the fans - I owe a special thank you for being with me on this journey.

For the support and criticism, the love and hate, for being the most beautiful and romantic part of football. Without you, none of this would make any sense! Thank you!’, - read in the address of Szczęsny.

At adult level, the Pole has represented Arsenal, Brentford, Roma and Juventus. During his career he played 548 matches, 84 of which - for the Polish national team.
