48-year-old heavyweight icon Wladimir Klitschko had seriously considered making a return to the ring.

Klitschko's team even began negotiations for a potential fight with IBF heavyweight champion Daniel Dubois. However, that possibility has now been ruled out.

Details: The negotiations were called off following the one-sided defeat of 58-year-old Mike Tyson at the hands of YouTube blogger and boxer Jake Paul. In light of Tyson's loss, promoters began to question whether 48-year-old Klitschko could still compete at a high level against the 27-year-old Dubois.

The fight between Klitschko and Dubois had been scheduled for February 22, 2025, in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

Reminder: Wladimir Klitschko retired from professional boxing after his loss to Anthony Joshua in 2017.
