This weekend, the second round matches of the Leagues Cup are taking place, with North American teams competing for the trophy.

The reigning champion, Inter Miami, traveled to Houston, where they faced the former Mexican champion, UANL Tigres, at NRG Stadium.

The American team was without their star player. Lionel Messi is still recovering from an injury sustained in the Copa America final. Additionally, the coach decided to start only one former Barcelona player. Jordi Alba started the match, while Sergio Busquets joined him on the field for the final 20 minutes.

The Mexicans took the lead in the 18th minute with a stunning goal from outside the penalty area by Juan Brunetta.

The Americans managed to equalize only in the 74th minute. Leonardo Campana earned a penalty and converted it himself.

However, towards the end of the match, Juan Vigón capitalized on a defensive error by Inter Miami and scored after a deflection off the crossbar.
