Switzerland and Scotland faced off in the second round of UEFA Euro 2024, in Group A.

The teams started the match energetically. In the 13th minute, the Scots launched a counterattack after their opponent's failed corner, which McTominay finished with a strike. A deflection off Schär impeded the Swiss goalkeeper.

Thirteen minutes later, Shaqiri capitalized on a defensive mix-up by the opponent and restored parity with a spectacular volley.

In the second half, both teams played cautiously and did not create significant scoring opportunities. The match concluded with a deserved 1:1 draw.
