Świątek lost to Sabalenka for the first time this season and exited the WTA 1000 in Cincinnati
Iga Świątek failed to reach the final of the WTA 1000 tournament in Cincinnati, USA. In the semifinal match, the world No. 1 lost to Aryna Sabalenka in straight sets.
In the first set, Iga made more mistakes than her opponent and allowed one more break, which led to her defeat. In the second set, the players were greatly affected by the weather, causing the match to be interrupted several times. In such conditions, the Pole struggled and couldn't find her rhythm. There was little resistance, and Sabalenka confidently closed the match in two sets.
WTA 1000. Cincinnati. Hardcourt. Semifinal

In the final, Sabalenka will face the winner of the Jessica Pegula vs. Paula Badosa match, which will start later. Notably, this will be Aryna's fifth final this year, but she has won only once, in January at the Australian Open.
