Super Eagles captain William Troost-Ekong has confirmed that the recent dispute between the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) and the national team has been resolved. This follows reports that the players boycotted training on Tuesday over unpaid bonuses, just days before their crucial 2026 FIFA World Cup playoff clash against Gabon.

Taking to his official X (formerly Twitter) account, Troost-Ekong announced that the matter had been settled, reassuring fans that the team’s focus is now fully on the games ahead.

“RESOLVED. We are together and, as before, focused on the games ahead!” the Super Eagles skipper wrote.

The Super Eagles are now expected to resume full training this evening in Rabat as they shift their focus back to football, with the all-important playoff against Gabon fast approaching. The resolution of the dispute has brought relief to fans and stakeholders, ensuring the team can prepare without further distractions.

Nigeria is set to face Gabon on Thursday at the Moulay Hassan Stadium in Rabat, while Cameroon will play DR Congo in the other semi-final. The winners of both fixtures will advance to the final on November 16, with a place in the inter-confederation play-offs up for grabs.
