Manchester United winger Bryan Mbeumo has spoken out about his position regarding a potential call-up to the Cameroon national team for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations. The tournament kicks off on December 21, with players required to join their national squads two weeks before the competition begins.
The player is expected to link up with Cameroon at the start of winter, which coincides with the club’s match against Wolverhampton on December 8. The club intends to approach the Cameroon Football Association with a request to allow Mbeumo to stay for crucial fixtures against Bournemouth and Aston Villa on December 13 and 21, respectively. Cameroon will open their continental campaign on December 24 against Gabon.
Mbeumo emphasized his desire to avoid any conflict between club and country, expressing hope that a clear agreement can be reached among all parties in the coming weeks. It’s worth noting that the winger was named Premier League Player of the Month for October.
