Last summer, Spanish defender Sergio Ramos returned to the Andalusian side after 18 years away from Sevilla, signing a one-year contract, but it seems the centre-back's swan song may soon be over.

According to Marca, the club would like to extend the labour agreement, as Ramos is seen as a leader in the dressing room and a player who is needed on the pitch, but the 37-year-old defender himself has not yet made a decision on a new contract.

Before signing for Sevilla, he turned down a decent financial offer from Arab clubs, agreeing to a million euros a year from his first club.

Despite the rejection, Ramos is still in demand, both in the Middle East, where his former teammates Ivan Rakitić and Cristiano Ronaldo play, and in MLS.

The 37-year-old defender, who has made 180 appearances for Spain, has played 25 games at club level this season, with five goals and one assist.
