Will Ranieri resort to tactical changes at Roma? Uzbekistan national coach reveals details
Tomorrow will see one of the main fixtures in Italian football – the Rome derby between Roma and Lazio. It has been reported that the head coach of the 'Giallorossi', Claudio Ranieri, might resort to a tactical surprise, which Uzbekistan national team coach Timur Kapadze does not consider impossible.
Details: The Uzbek team's coach, in an interview with sports24.uz, highlighted the fact that during a certain period of the match against Juventus, Roma played with two forwards, Eldor Shomurodov and Artem Dovbyk. Ranieri might resort to the same strategy in the game against Lazio.
Quote: "Under Ranieri's guidance, Roma uses a tactic with one central striker. And mostly Dovbyk is used. Both Shomurodov and Dovbyk can play the role of a central striker. Eldor is more versatile than Artem, as he was previously a winger. Ranieri worked with Eldor at Cagliari and knows his capabilities well.
In the second half of the game against Juventus, Eldor came on as a substitute for a defender, and Roma played with two central strikers. However, Shomurodov also appeared on the flank when needed. Therefore, I think Ranieri might field both Shomurodov and Dovbyk simultaneously in the next match," Kapadze stated.
Reminder: Currently, Roma, along with Ranieri, is on the hunt for a new head coach, and recent reports have indicated that former Borussia Dortmund manager Edin Terzić has emerged as a candidate.
