Will he avoid responsibility? Negreira’s psychological condition has worsened
The investigation into the Negreira case is still ongoing in Spain, but it now appears the central figure in the scandal could ultimately avoid legal responsibility.
Details: According to reports from El Mundo, new forensic medical findings indicate that the dementia suffered by José María Enríquez Negreira has significantly worsened.
As a result, he could avoid accountability in the case. It is believed he may have developed Alzheimer's disease, which would leave him unable to properly follow or participate in legal proceedings.
We previously reported that the Negreira investigation could soon escalate into a full criminal trial in the coming months. If guilt is proven, several former and current officials at FC Barcelona could face prison sentences.
Reminder: Barcelona’s hierarchy continue to place full trust in Hansi Flick, who is expected to remain in charge of the club.
