Will have to wait a bit longer. MS Dhoni to miss IPL games at least until the end of April
The legendary Chennai Super Kings captain MS Dhoni remains sidelined due to lingering effects of a calf muscle injury sustained before the start of the season.
Details: According to Cricket Central, despite earlier optimistic forecasts of a two-week recovery, the 44-year-old veteran’s rehabilitation has taken longer than expected, prompting the club to decide against risking his health.
It’s now confirmed that Dhoni will not feature in the upcoming matches. Chennai’s medical staff are taking an extremely cautious approach. Although MS has already resumed net training and looks sharp with the bat, he’s still not ready for full-intensity sessions, including wicketkeeping drills.
The “Talisman’s” return is expected no earlier than April 23—against Mumbai Indians at Wankhede Stadium—or possibly April 26 in the clash with Gujarat Titans. While Dhoni continues his recovery journey, his role in the team is temporarily filled by Sanju Samson.
Reminder: Here you can find the schedule and results of upcoming matches
