Ferrari's pilot, Carlos Sainz, will miss the upcoming Grand Prix in Saudi Arabia, as announced by the official Formula 1 account.

Sainz has been diagnosed with appendicitis, and he is expected to be absent for several weeks.

Replacing the Spaniard in Saudi Arabia will be Ferrari's reserve pilot, 18-year-old Oliver Berman. This marks his debut at such a competitive level.

In the season's opening Grand Prix in Bahrain, Sainz secured a third-place finish, trailing behind Red Bull's Sergio Perez and Max Verstappen.
