Will France and the Netherlands receive bronze medals for Euro 2024?

In the Euro 2024 final, Spain will face England, but for the semifinal losers, France and the Netherlands, the tournament is already over. The Spaniards, inspired by the successes of Lamine Yamal, defeated France in the semifinal, while England also managed to overcome the Netherlands thanks to a last-minute goal by Ollie Watkins.
Unlike other football competitions such as the World Cup, Copa America, and Africa Cup of Nations, there is no third-place match at the Euros. This means that France and the Netherlands have finished their participation and returned home without the chance to play for medals.
The Euros previously held a third-place match for the semifinal losers, but UEFA canceled this practice due to low interest from fans and television viewers. In the past, teams that lost in the semifinals received bronze medals, a tradition briefly revived at Euro 2008 and Euro 2012. However, since 2016, this custom has been discontinued, and the semifinal losers leave the tournament without any awards.
