The Usyk vs. Wilder fight is set to be a blockbuster event in the boxing world.
Details: 33-year-old New Zealand heavyweight Joseph Parker (36-4, 24 KOs), who recently lost the WBO title to Fabio Wardley, admitted that he believes Deontay Wilder has every chance to defeat the former two-time undisputed heavyweight world champion, Ukrainian Oleksandr Usyk.
"Deontay Wilder always has a chance. He always has that solid right hand. Ultimately, it all depends on Oleksandr Usyk—whether he wants to stand there and risk getting caught with the right, or if he'd rather move and showcase his boxing skills and footwork. If Usyk displays what he did in his previous fights, he'll have a great chance," Joseph Parker told Boxing King Media.
Earlier, Usyk publicly challenged Wilder to a bout, putting his WBC world champion belt on the line, and Wilder's team accepted the offer.
As for Parker, the WBO had mandated Usyk to defend his title against Joseph, but due to an injury, Usyk first had to postpone the fight and then ultimately vacated the belt, allowing Fabio Wardley to become the new champion after defeating Parker.
Reminder: Official: WBC allows Usyk to make a voluntary title defense against Wilder
