Who will get a fifth trip to the Champions League? UEFA seasonal coefficient rankings uefa.com

After the recent first-leg quarter-final matches of the UEFA Champions League, Europa League, and Conference League, the seasonal UEFA coefficient ranking has been updated.

It is worth recalling that, according to the new regulations, the two top-performing countries in the seasonal ranking receive an additional team in the Champions League for the next season.

Seasonal UEFA Ranking

  • Italy – 18,428
  • Germany – 16,785
  • England – 16,750
  • Spain –15,062
  • France –14,750

If Fiorentina defeats Viktoria Plzeň next week and Atalanta does not lose to Liverpool, Italy will be guaranteed to have 5 teams in the Champions League next season.

As you can see, the main competition is between Germany and England. Germany currently maintains three participants in the European cups: Bayern Munich, Borussia Dortmund, and Bayer Leverkusen. England has four representatives remaining: Manchester City, Arsenal, Liverpool, and Aston Villa.

It is remarkable that the Champions League will follow a new format in the next season. Instead of a group stage, we will have a single league of 36 teams, where each team will play 8 matches against different opponents.
