Who will be on defense? Another Real Madrid transfer target eludes them

Real Madrid continues its search for a central defender to replace the departed Nacho Fernández and Rafa Marín. The top transfer target for Los Blancos is Lille’s Leny Yoro, but the young French talent is likely to join Manchester United.

Next on Real Madrid's wishlist was Mario Gila from Lazio. Two years ago, Los Blancos sold him to the Italian club for €6 million and are now considering bringing him back. Given a buy-back clause with a 50% discount for the Spaniard, Real Madrid could save significantly on the transfer.

However, it seems that Los Blancos might not be able to count on this transfer either. In a conversation with Il Messaggero, Gila himself stated that he does not want to return to the Spanish capital.

"Absolutely, I’m not leaving here. Even if Real Madrid has the right to buy me, and even if an offer comes in. This club believes in me, and I believe in Lazio."

This statement increases Real Madrid’s interest in Leny Yoro even more, and they will likely do everything to beat Manchester United in this race.
