When is the return? New details of Josip Stanišić's recovery are known

Bayern Munich defender Josip Stanišić will be sidelined for the rest of the year after tearing the lateral ligament in his right knee during a team training session in August. The Croatian’s expected return date has now been set.

Details: According to journalist Florian Plettenberg, Stanišić's recovery is progressing well and on schedule. However, the club won’t rush his return even if he heals ahead of time. He is expected to rejoin team training by mid-December.

The 24-year-old right-back aims to be fully fit and ready to play by January 2025, in time for the second half of the season.

Reminder: Stanišić spent last season on loan with Bayer Leverkusen, where he contributed to their Bundesliga title win. After an impressive season, Bayern now sees him as a key member of the squad.

In July, the Croatian extended his contract with Bayern Munich until 2029.
