What Daniel Cardoso said about Sipho Mbule!

Sekhukhune United veteran Daniel Cardoso has opened up about the turbulent situation surrounding midfielder Sipho Mbule, whose loan spell at the club was abruptly terminated following disciplinary breaches.

The 26-year-old Mbule arrived at Sekhukhune at the start of the 2024/25 season on loan from Mamelodi Sundowns, initially impressing with his creative midfield play – contributing two goals and three assists in 17 appearances. However, his stint turned sour after repeated off-field incidents, including allegedly arriving at training under the influence of alcohol and bringing unauthorized guests to the team camp.

Cardoso, speaking on the Soccer Beat Podcast, expressed both frustration and concern for his former teammate: "It's heartbreaking to witness such talent being derailed. We've had multiple conversations, but another incident led to his departure. At 26, he should be reaching his peak – potentially even representing Bafana Bafana."

The defender revealed that Mbule had squandered a golden opportunity to rejoin Sundowns' Club World Cup squad after his initial good form at Sekhukhune. "With this latest setback, I doubt that chance remains," Cardoso added.

Despite the criticism, Cardoso extended an emotional plea to the troubled midfielder: "Sipho possesses world-class ability – he could play anywhere in Europe. Brother, I hope you see this and make the necessary changes before it's too late. Your career deserves redemption."
